eBikes in Stock
$3,000.00
LIMITED EDITION - When Serial 1 launched in October 2020, the first eBike shown to the public was a stunning prototype drawn from the vintage motorcycle that inspired the creation of the Serial 1 eBike brand.
Serial 1 is thrilled now to offer a limited-edition model, the MOSH/TRIBUTE, that so faithfully captures the iconic look and feel of that first prototype, and to use this moment as a springboard to launch our Limited Edition Series that will see even more exclusive and highly-desirable Serial 1 eBike models in the future.
Based on Serial 1's MOSH/CTY production model, the MOSH/TRIBUTE holds remarkably true to the original prototype, including rich gloss black paint with gold graphics, distinctive, white-toned Schwalbe Super Moto-X tires (exclusive to Serial 1), a hand-crafted, honey-colored leather saddle and matching leather grips from Brooks England, and a stamped-brass shield mounted to the front signature light.

What goes up, loves coming down
The Bullit is an electric mountain bike designed for tackling the steepest and deepest of trails in both directions. Imagine the kinds of rooty, rocky, horror fests usually reserved for our biggest-hitting bikes like the Nomad and Megatower. Then imagine what lies beyond that.
Where the Heckler's priority is agility and playful handling, the Bullit takes more of a no-limits approach. 170mm travel, a 38mm fork, and DoubleDown tires reflect the smashability of this platform. This is a bike for riders who seek V10-level terrain that's out of range of any chairlift or shuttle road.
It was actually the Santa Cruz Syndicate team's success on their mixed-wheel DH race bikes that made us consider the same format for the Bullit. We learned from them that mixed wheels provide the confidence at speed of a 29er with the more spritely handling characteristics and maneuverability of a 27.5-inch rear wheel. And, for an e-bike, it also means we can dictate exactly how long (or short) we want to make the chainstays to balance climbing traction and handling. The added butt clearance on super steep stuff is just another bonus.
The biggest trails take a bigger commitment to reach them. Thankfully Shimano's commitment to the STEPS EP8 motor means we have a lighter, more powerful (85Nm), more compact, and more efficient way of reaching them. The EP8 is also tuned to give more power in Trail mode without affecting range. So, paired with Shimano's biggest 630wh battery, it ensures the Bullit is fully equipped for long, tough climbs to the longest, toughest descents.

On and on and on and on...
Danny MacAskill just doesn't stop talking about ebikes. He's infatuated with them. In fact, the only time he's not chewing someone's ear off about how good they are is when he's riding them. And when he's riding an ebike he rides and rides and rides. Which is partly why we've made the newest Heckler able to go further, higher, faster, and be funner.
The latest generation of the Heckler has a larger interchangeable battery (720wh up from 504wh), which allows riders to expand their own trail map - accessing previously unreachable trails, unlocking less-used trails and cramming more into less time.
The new Heckler has both mixed or dual 29-inch wheel size options. Wheel size isn't the only option for riders. There's a full-size range of both from medium to XXL, with the small size frame having dual 27.5 wheels. Two levels of carbon (Santa Cruz's own C and CC blends) open up the range of options for build kits.
The thing that sets our ebikes apart from the pack is the on-trail manners of the bike. We sweat the carbon layup and frame design so it's tough enough to handle the sheer quantity of riding ebikes allow. There are no corners cut in the componentry so your only concern is not getting lost rather than being stuck with a mechanical. The geometry has been honed from a lot of testing and feedback in order to make the ride fun whether going up or down. And finally, the legendary VPP suspension has been tuned precisely for ebike use. 150mm rear travel (with 160mm travel fork up front) seems to be the sweet spot for a bike intended to tame big trails on big days, with slightly less anti-squat to give it glue-like traction on the climbs you'll be testing yourself on.
The only thing we've yet to figure out is how to get Danny into a 12-step ebike recovery program.
